FXD is described in the international standard ISO 22901-3.
ISO 22901 Road vehicles - Open diagnostic data exchange (ODX)
The international standard ISO, which consists of three parts, describes ODX (Open Diagnostic Data eXchange).
While parts 1 and 2 describe the data model and emission-related diagnostic data, the third part is dedicated to the FXD (Fault symptom eXchange Description) exchange format. FXD is therefore described in ISO 22901-3.
This standard was developed within the framework of a working group that was affiliated with the German approval working group. The technical implementation was carried out jointly by teams at Continental (project management by Annette Kempf) and at Bosch, whereas the requirements came from the working group at Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Volkswagen.
